Babies: 6 - 9 Months

where to travel with baby in Europe?

I have some vacation days from last year that I didn't use and I would love to travel next month. We live in Europe so I'd prefer to stay around here (transatlantic traveling was not so nice when baby was 5 months, he had jet-lag for 5 days when coming back).

Do you have any recommendations for European cities that are baby friendly (for example, Venice is full of bridges without ramps so going around with a stroller is horrible)? Did you find that LO was over-tired or uncomfortable? Would you do it again? Any other recommendations?

TIA!

  • Hi, how about Berlin, Germany? It is a very family- friendly city. Public transportation is perfect and you (almost always) have elevators and escalators. Also within the city there is a lot to see and you can walk around. No need for a car. Plus: its affordable!

  • Paris! Paris is always a good idea...plus it would be easy to get around with a stroller. I definitely agree to skip Venice-I saw a few moms there with strollers and I can't imagine it was very much fun!

  • Florence is easy to walk around in. When I was there last year ( I didn't have little one yet) but I saw moms with strollers everywhere.
It's easy to drive in Ireland and I felt it was family friendly.
Vienna would also be good. The trams are easy to use and above ground.
  • Thanks! I have been in Paris already, after some research and your suggestions we will got to Tuscany (Pisa, Florence and Siena).

  • What about using a carrier like an ergo to make traveling around cities easier?

  • I'd love to be able to carry LO around, but I am a petite mom with a huge baby haha he is 24 pounds and I can't carry him longer than 20 minutes
