Which store did you like for your registry? We are only 15 weeks tomorrow, but people are starting to buy stuff and DH wants to get a registry going ASAP. Which store did you go with and why? Thanks!
We dont have BBB close enough to us so we chose BRU with DS. The BRU was a 1.5 miles from our house. The coupons at BBB are more plentiful because you cam also you Bed Bath and Beyond coupons as well. They have a more diverse selection though i have noticed some key items were priced higher at BBB. We ended up with lots of cash and giftcards because we live away from our families so whatever cash we got we took a trip to BBB to get the things we wanted/needed we didnt get from BRU. BRU by us was not a bad experience. They were always nice amd never had issues making returns with a receipt.
Definitely BBB. Can't stand BRU. Much better quality in their brand selection than BRU IMO, and a world of difference in their employees. BRU employees (near us anyway) treat customers terribly and like they could care less to help you or even be there at all.
BBB by far is the better of the two. Large selection. No hassle returns. Coupons AND the price match everything. Just pull it up on ur phone from another site or store and they honor it in addition to the coupons.
We used BRU because there isn't a BBB close by. I did register for both, and just did BBB entirely online. I was mostly happy with BRU, had some issues initially with setting up the registry in person because the sale associate messed it up, but they gave me a ton of coupons for that.
I'm not a STM, but I have shopped for probably 2 dozen baby showers in the last decade and I dread when they are only listed at BRU. It is so hard to shop off their registries! It lists the crib sheets, but not the color or pattern unless you look at the tiny code listed and pull every last one off the shelf and check the UPC on the back. Some with onsies and anything else that's comes in different colors. And they often move things and do not update the registries. So I'm carefully looking over aisle b3 only to find they moved that product line to and end cap last week.
HATE BRU. They ate unhelpful and really don't care about their customers. BBB on the other hand is fantastic. So knowledgeable and helpful. I'd go with them anyday.
BRU is a nightmare. They delivered the wrong crib to us, and then 2 months later, delivered the wrong rocker. Customer service idiots. If you have a BBB, go there instead.
We don't have BBB, BRU, or Target in town... horay for small town living.. so I've been contemplating Amazon. Anyone have experience with Amazon? if we had a target, I'd just go with that.
The closest BBB is 6 hours from here so we won't be registering there. I did BRU and Target. Our families are close to Target in both directions so most of our items will probably be coming from there. If you create registry from BRU before the end of the month, you'll get 20% in store credit from the items purchased within 10 days of baby's impending arrival.
I love Buy buy baby (bbb) @kshayes0315 I actually had a 1/2 hour conversation with an employee about diaper pails and which one is the best. They are much more knowledgeable about their products and they encourage you to play with the strollers and carseats and whatnot. Babies r us (bru) I find it is alot of high school/college age kids that could care less.
We did BBB and BRU, however, BRU is a nightmare. We had issues with the furniture as well as hassles with some returns. And I agree with a PP, I don't find their employees knowledgable about products.
We don't have a BBB. We actually registered at Target and had a lot of trouble. If anyone purchased anything off the registry, it was really difficult to return or exchange. Also, we registered at about 22 weeks and had our shower at 30, but in those 2 months, several things had gone out of stock, so it was difficult for people to actually use our registry. That said, I don't love BRU so if I had to recommend somewhere, I'd go with Amazon. Amazon is actually really nice because you can register for products on other websites, which is awesome. Plus, huge selection and free shipping on a lot of products. And better prices than most brick and mortar stores.
I don't know if it's been mentioned on this thread but BBB will price match. I've found a few items significantly cheaper at target or walmart and they've honored those prices. They won't use additional coupons when price matching. They also match some popular online sites.
I like BBB better, but I found better sales at BRU. We got our crib mattress, monitor, and a few other higher dollar items there.
I had registries at BBB, PBK, and Amazon. Amazon was definitely the best. I liked PBK until I got the completion coupon. At the time, they were running a free shipping promo, but they wouldn't combine the promo with the coupon. The free shipping was the better deal, so I never used the coupon.
Well, we went out today and decided to skip BRU altogether due to the generally negative feedback. DH had done his research and really wanted a crib from there, so this was a big compromise. We ended up doing BBB for most stuff and some smaller things at Target because some people don't have a BBB nearby.
I love BBB a lot, and oddly enough there is a BBB about 3 miles from my house and there isn't a BRU for about 15...so, that made it an easy choice for us.
A perk of BRU is that they tend to be in more cities, so if people want to physically go shopping it's easier for them (we also registered at Target, so that gave folks from smaller towns an option).
I like that you can use Bed Bath and Beyond coupons at BBB and vise versa (I think). Plus, the stroller guy at our BBB was out of this world knowledgeable about anything car seat/stroller related...he knew it all!
We're using myregistry.com online. It's easy, and you can shop everywhere with just one registry.
I'm doing this for #2, so I can add Etsy stuff and keep track of all the things I need. Unfortunately, only I will see it (and maybe my MIL and mom)...I wish I would have done it for #1
Re: STMs - Did you prefer BBB or BRU?
I've also seen a bunch of people using Amazon as a registry. No experience with that but might be something to consider.
Baby #3 due September 12, 2014!
