Random, random question

We got a china cabinet when we got married. It was one of my favorite pieces of furniture.  Anyway, when we built our house there wasn't anyplace to put it in the kitchen or the eat in breakfast room. Our room that is supposed to be a dining room is a playroom.  Eventually, it will be an office.  Right now the china cabinet is upstairs in our loft area, but it is about to be displaced (I am moving a desk area there).  Would you a. store the cabinet in storage space (planty of room) or b. try to sell it?  And if the answer is a, will it look weird in the eventual office? TIA for indulging me.

  • I would love one but we don't have space for it. I say find it a new home. Eventually you will have a dining room, right?

  • It WAS one of your favorite pieces? Or still is? Are you in your forever home? If you love it, and you will have room for it in a future home, keep it. If you're over it and won't have room for it, sell it.

No, we probably won't.  We have seating for 8 in our eat in kitchen. The playroom will be an office eventually.

I guess - was.  It is upstairs and I don't really think about it. Every once in a while, I try to figure out how to make it work downstairs but I don't think it will.  We are in our forever home, most likely.  I should probably sell it.

I would need to see a picture but I like to repurpose furniture. If it would work for storing books and office supplies or serve a new purpose in another room, I would hold on to it. If not, go ahead and let it go.
    This gets my vote

Our china cabinet is in our office. The shelves are not a great size for books, but I have some pictures and knick knacks in there. I think it works in the room. I want to paint it, but probably won't be able to any time soon.

ETA: The bottom holds office stuff, too.

It's unfortunate you don't have room in there then! I would try to repurpose it before selling.

I know. :( it is weird wall spacing. The only place that would have worked we built in shelves into the wall.
