Pulling Problem

My baby is 5 weeks old. He had been eating just fine, but he is now sometimes crying inconsolably and pulling away from the breast. He keeps his mouth closed so it hurts a lot. He does not do it at every feeding. I have fast let down on one side and pump a little before, so that it not the issue. He will do it to both sides, and sometimes won't even eat from the other. I am so frustrated and don't know what to do anymore. It's making me start to hate breastfeeding.

    I know that pain all too well! Try putting your finger on the corner of the baby's mouth and pulling gently. Breaks the suction and broke the habit for at least a little while with my LO. Good luck...promise it gets easier!
