Colase-stool softeners

Not my favorite topic but just realized I might need a little help with the stool softener approach.  If you use it, do you use it regularly to keep things moving or just as needed? Haven't talked to a nurse/dr. yet about how often but thought I'd ask incase some of you are using something similar.

Re: Colase-stool softeners

  • As one of the biggest sufferers of constipation throughout my pregnancy I can tell you that I took colace religiously, every day 3 times a day. There is no harm in taking it if you need it. It helps some women more than others.

If you have a hard time don't hesitate to post and ask for advice. Some of the other women could tell you I had an awful battle on my hands, especially in first tri.

  • Hands up - I take Colace too. Every day, once in the morning and once at night but I may need to up the dose. It's safe.

  • Thanks ladies. I remember it being safe but was unsure of frequency.
