Daylight savings

Anyone else not a fan of having to worry about LO's schedule during daylight savings? She finally got the hang of her schedule and has been following it like clockwork. I've read a lot of articles and heard lots of different opinions about what to do now that we lose an hour. Some say to just keep your schedule even if it pushes everything back an hour. Others say gradually adjust. She woke up an hour earlier today so I just went with it and hope the rest of the day will fall into her schedule. What are your plans ladies?

Re: Daylight savings

  • Her schedule so far has been 7-7. I considered moving it to 8-8, but she has been on the same schedule with the boy I babysit. His schedule will have to adjust since his parents work, so I might adjust hers so I can breathe when they nap. I'm screwed today, because she stayed up until 9 last night and slept 1.5 hours later than usual.

  • I'd say to just do bedtime at your normal time like @nachellebeck said.

Spring is always the best regarding daylight savings in our house.

  • I just realized that I might be able to drop Tyler's pre-bedtime nap now!!

  • I'm going to try to keep him up an extra 30-45 min later tonight in hopes he sleeps longer. That's would work better for us anyways.

  • He slept til 6:45 rather than 5:30 this morning. He has to be up by 6:30 during the week, but I'd love for his bedtime to be closer to 8 rather than 7. Sunday naps are usually off bc of church. Guess I'll wait and see what time he's ready for bed tonight.

  • We started to moving his bedtime up about a week ago. I like a 7pm - 7am schedule so I'm trying to get him back to that. We've successfully moved it up by half and hour so we'll be working on the other half hour over the next few weeks.
  • I'm jealous of all the babies that sleep 12 hours like 7-7. My LO goes to bed at 8 and is up by 5:30 and isn't STTN. But he does take long naps.

  • LO didn't sleep well the past two nights and woke up at 8am, normal time despite day light saving. She usually goes to bed at 8, but fell asleep at 7:30 tonight. Fingers crossed for a good night and good routine!

  • We adjusted her schedule on Saturday, had her take a later second nap and kept her up late on Saturday night. She still woke up at 6 to eat but went back to sleep until almost 10. She was ready to go to bed tonight right before 8. Hopefully tonight will go smoothly.

  • In his true "I do what I want" style, my LO had his best night ever last night. Weirdo! Only woke up twice and they were 5 hours apart. Heaven!!
