I loved reading these when I was pregnant so here is mine!
Evie was born at 12:36pm on November 20th 2013. She was 20 inches long and weighed 7lbs 6oz. I was 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
I had been diagnosed with high blood pressure at 36 weeks and was scheduled for an induction at 39 weeks. I was thrilled I went into labor on my own!
I started having mild but consistent cramping at 9pm on November 19th. I wasn't sure if I was going into labor but they were definitely more regular than any other previous BH contractions. Around 11pm they were getting stronger and were about 5 minutes apart. I also lost my plug (lovely) around this time. I called my doc and she said to call back when I couldn't walk or talk through my contractions. I reached that point around 2am. She then told me to wait an hour and then head to the hospital. We live about 30 minutes away so we left at 3am and got to the hospital at 3:30am. After checking in they wheeled me to triage. I was only 3 cm dilated but 100% effaced. My contractions were very very painful at this point and coming ever 1.5 to 2 minutes apart. They admitted me and after one bag of fluids I got my epidural (best decision ever). So after they broke my water we just waited until I was complete. I felt no pain at all after the epidural. I was complete at 11am and started pushing! I was having a hard time feeling the contractions but did feel a little pressure so pushed when I felt that. After 1.5 hours of pushing Evie was born!! I only had a small one degree internal tear. The placenta came out immediately after baby and all was fine. I couldn't have asked for an easier and less complicated labor and delivery. It was a wonderful experience and my DH was there cheering me along the whole way. The last 15 weeks have been so so amazing!
