Re: *** Friday/Weekend Bedrest Check-in ***

  • I actually slept pretty well last night... only had to get up twice to use the restroom and thankfully I was able to get right back to sleep.

Symptoms: heartburn from Hell (still), pelvic girdle pain/spd, contractions (not too many but they're still annoying), hormonal roller coaster, and just generally being very uncomfortable... I just can't seem to find a relaxing position to lay/sit in...

For you ladies having NST's for what reasons did your Dr recommend them? I'm just curious because my Dr hasn't mentioned them and I winner if it's something I should ask for...

    QOTD: (FFFF)
    1. I had to call the cops on some guy that was beating his girlfriend in their car across the street from my house yesterday. We don't live in the best neighborhood but its usually pretty quiet around here. The guy and the girl were visiting our neighbors so technically they're not from around here but, I told dh (who was at work at the time) if I wasn't pregnant I probably would've been out there yelling at that guy or throwing stuff at him. I can't tolerate abuse of someone who can't defend themselves properly it drives me nuts!!!

    2. The weather has been nicer these last few days so I asked dh to open the windows for me. It felt great until I caught a strong whiff of dog poop!! The neighbor's dog was doing his business right on the other side of the fence:/ whomp whomp... close that window please.

    3. Speaking of smells, I've really been hooked on the Irish Spring body wash dh just bought for himself. It smells so clean lol. I also asked him to bring a bucket of Pine-Sol into the room so it could smell like I just moped (even though most of the room is carpet). He said I'll just light a candle for you but I tried to explain to him I just want to smell clean things... like laundry detergent may have worked too... weird?

    4. Dh and I are ordering LO's crib today, I feel a little behind but hopefully it'll arrive quickly.
I think once the crib gets here everything is going to feel so real...

    5. My m.i.l. text me yesterday to say that she's planning a "meet the baby" shower for May 24th since she knows I wouldn't be able to attend a traditional baby shower at her house. It sounds like a good idea, I just don't know how I'm going to feel about taking our baby out to be around so many people.....

  • Had a stressful start to the night timing contractions and worrying but then fell asleep and everything chilled out.

My contractions are still being somewhat worrisome. I've had 2 episodes of the faintest spotting. Haven't gone in yet but anymore and I will. My MFM said Friday to have a low threshold for going in for the next week because it's my last chance to get steroids as they don't do them beyond 34 weeks. Hoping we won't need to, but kinda feeling like it will happen, Sundays are usually hard before my next Makena dose. Only 3 more shots after this one though!

I'm having NSTs one a week for polyhydramnios with an AFI around 27. So far they've been good.

    QOTD:
    1. The weather is amazing here this weekend. It's 70 and sunny and really making it feel like Spring.

    2. I was told yesterday I don't need to check blood sugars anymore. I celebrated today with Girl Scout cookies which is honestly dumb because I definitely do have some insulin resistance.

    3. I'm dreading DST tonight... I hate springing forward!

    4. I have 2 cats that we hand raised as kittens. BFing a baby is actually much easier than bottle feeding a kitten.

    5. I miss work... I'm doing some stuff here and there by email to stay in the loop which is honestly dumb because I'm not getting compensated for it. Oh well, I love my job!

  • @haziedaze I'm sorry to hear that your contractions aren't letting up much... and spotting now too? I hope your next injection offers some relief. We're so close now!! Idk if you're feeling as miserable as I am (you might be alot tougher than me) but just hang in there. Our LO's are almost ready...

  • @tracint totally miserable... we can whine together! I was really hoping to be able to lighten up on bedrest a bit and do one activity a day for just 2 hours, but now I'm realizing that we're so close to avoiding the NICU that I really don't want to push it. I think I'll wait till 35 and try to lay low the next 2 weeks. Just SO TIRED of my couch! The spotting is so light I just can't get worried about it. He's moving well so I'm just monitoring, none today yet.

Hi everyone, hope you are feeling well.  I have been sleeping ok, luckily the DST didn't really screw us up too badly (so far).

My back has been KILLING me the last few days.  On Thursday, my OB said my MBR restrictions could be slowly lifted and I can do a little more, so I have been.  Clearly I am completely out of shape - it's going to be a long road back to "normal"  :(  I see the OB again tomorrow for a check-up, and I ditch the stitch on Thursday!

    QOTD:

    1. I am in major organization/nesting mode.  I don't know if we are just generally disorganized, or we have way too much stuff, but I feel like it's a full time job to try to keep up with this.  I just want everything in my house to have a place!  I bought a label maker and a bunch of storage bins today, and I made good progress on the girls' closets.  Now on to the rest of the house!

    2. I have been having a lot of BH over the last few weeks, but I'm not sure if they are actual contractions or not.  My doctor always asks and I say they're only BH, but to be honest, I'm not even sure I would recognize them if I did, even though this will be my second child.  I am trying to pay attention to everything, but I'm worried that I'm contracting at some point and have no idea.

    3. I'm stressing about BFing this baby (I EP'd DD) and keep having weird dreams that DD2 is going to be born with a full set of teeth!!

    4. I wish McDonalds delivered.. I could really go for a fountain diet coke right now and DH is at work and DD is in bed.

    5. This might be our last child, so I am trying to enjoy every last minute of being pregnant.  I spent the whole pregnancy just wishing and hoping for the days to pass uneventfully so I could be further along, and now I want time to stand still!  It is a little bittersweet.
