So I am living with my mom right now. Nearly all of my money is going to pay her rent. I am only leftover with enough money to buy groceries and put gas in my car. Because of this, my daughter still doesn't have a crib. I was waiting for her grandpa to buy her one because he offered to when she was 3 months old.
Since DD sleeps in my bed and is growing more and more mobile every day, I am becoming nervous about her falling off. I would put her in her pack n play, but it was recently destroyed by my mom's dogs. I would buy bed rails but the type of bed frame I have will not allow a bed rail (at least the inexpensive one's). So I planned on moving my mattress to the floor. I told my mom how I was planning on doing this and she yelled at me, started to tell me how disgusting and dirty that is and how if a cop were to come into my room and see that, he would be concerned for my daughter's safety.
Should I buy a crib the next time I get paid and ask my mom to help cover my expenses as needed or should I just suck it up and realize that I'm lucky that she is even letting us stay with her?
Re: Annoyed-WWYD
What does your mom think you should do?
I'm all for a floor bed normally, but if there are agressive or destructive dogs who are near baby, I don't think that is a reasonable option.
Have you posted an ask on your local Freecycle group or checked the Craiglist used section?
More Green For Less Green
Our bed is on the floor. We have a five month old kitten and no other pets. We live in an early 20th century cottage turned duplex with dust. I keep the place as clean as I can, but I'm not a neatfreak. DD is healthy and happy and all 3 of us (4 of us incluing kitten) have 0 issues sleeping on a floor bed. It's not dirty and disgusting.
