Looking for some suggestions to try for LO and his naps. LO is 6 months old and naps usually twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon, on a good day. His naps are short and sweet, only 30 to 45 minutes max. I know this sounds short and may not even qualify as a nap to most people, but LO is actually quite a content baby and not fussy, so I've learned to accept that he may not need long naps. He sleeps surprisingly well TTN. Goes down around 7 or 7:30 with no problems due to his bedtime routine of bath and massage since day one and gets up around 7:30 or 8 am the next morning. I will get up to feed or dipe change 3-4 times through the night which I am ok with. I just have a problem soothing him for his naps sometimes. I can see he is tired so I usually soothe by breast (he's been EBF) until he falls asleep, as he won't take a pacifier. But as LO still has not sprouted any teeth yet, I am just thinking ahead for when he does, I will no longer be giving him breast. I try to be aware of his surroundings when he gets tired and look for things that may be keeping him stimulated and then make adjustments. I've read books with info and I was wondering about trying the Ferber method for his naps. When dad is home on days off, he will lay LO in his PP and he will sometimes self soothe but with me, not much luck. There's times when I do soothe him and lay him in his crib and he wakes up 5 minutes later and stays up for another 30 minutes while I am trying to soothe him again. I just want to know that can soothe him for a nap when I see he needs one before he gets overtired.
Does anyone have any similar experience or any good ideas to try?
