Clumsy baby

So LO can sit up really well on her own, but if she's tired, she tends to topple over. Well she went to reach for a toy and fell to the side, hitting her head on the dresser. She hit the very front part- and it was loud! I looked away for one second when it happened and couldn't catch her in time. She cried hard for a few minutes and then was fine. Should I be concerned? Head injuries make me so nervous! I know she's going to fall and bump her head a lot over the next few years...but I just feel so bad.
If she's acting fine...can I assume she's okay? Would you call the doc or take her in?

Re: Clumsy baby

  • I would watch her and make sure she is not acting erratic. Chances are she did not hit her head hard enough to do serious harm. Once they get mobile they start hitting their heads on everything. I'm sure she will be just fine.

  • Thanks! I nursed her and she passed out in my arms...even though she just woke from a nap 30-40 min prior. I'll definitely be watching her....
Debating if I should check in her during the night. She usually falls asleep at 7pm and wakes for a snack at 5:30am then back down until 7:30.

DS1 recently hit his head hard. I did check in on him at night, but just listened to his breathing. Trust your instinct, but I'm sure she is fine.

If something was wrong, would they be really large or small??

Help! I'm stuck in the box!!

They would be different sizes or one would dilate slower than the other.

  • They would likely be blown or very big.

Z has bumped her head a few times she cried for a moment and then she was ok. She lunges and jumps all over the bed with her whole body she is very clumsy. I have extra pillows everywhere.

Keep an eye on her. I'm sure she's fine. Probably hurt you worse than her.
