Tummy Tub

Okay ladies, I have a friend that swears this is the best thing ever.  Just wondering if anyone else has one, used one, knows someone with one.  Basically trying to figure out if it's worth it, or just an expensive bucket as my DH says. :)

Re: Tummy Tub

  • Wow.im sure some people will like it but it just looks strange to me.i'd pass.
  • Loading the player...
  • It looks like a laundry basket... Any pictures with a baby inside?
  • @Tnpeach There is a video at the bottom of the page of how it's used.  Lots of babies inside it.  They all look really happy.  Could just be due to good editing, though.

  • I agree with PP.. def looks like a bucket. I wouldn't go out and purchase it new, maybe you can buy one used from a friend or barrow one?

  • Yeah, after watching the videos, it still looks like a laundry basket. I'd pass.
  • I get the concept, but to me it looks like a glorified bucket as well.  However, my friend raves about it.  That's why I wondered if anyone else had any experience with one.

  • I can't imagine that giving a bath would be easy in this thing. I'll pass.
  • I've seen those, and people totally love them...but I don't quite get the hype. Too bad no one has experience with them.

I'm just not sure how easy it would be to wash their legs/feet/bottoms.

  • I have no personal experience with them, but I put one on my amazon registry. It got really good reviews!
  • Meh. I didn't use my infant tub for long enough to get more than a basic one. Basic= infant sling and can sit in the big bath later.

  • Couldn't you just go buy a bucket from Walmart and it would be exactly the same? Looks like the bucket I use to mop my floors.

  • By the way they are holding the newb's neck in the video, it looks like a great way for a baby to drown, no thanks.

  • I have the lionheart wash pod and swear by it. One of our fave purchases.
  • It looks really awkward to me.

  • It more simulates the womb in that the way they sit is super comfortAble. They are completely submerged so they are super warm and they don't slip under bc of the way they sit and u don't fill it up all the way. Love that thing!
  • Looks like a glorified bucket to me. I can get a similar setup using my sink, which is what I plan on using for the first little while.

  • I thought it was weird until we used it too. Love it! To each their own!
  • Expensive bucket. You can get a handleless mop pail that looks just like it at the dollar store.

I love bath pads and sponges. I've always had access to an actual bathtub, so I've never really seen the point of sink baths or special baby tubs.

  • I have no experience but when reading reviews online I found a few that talked about it being hard to clean their bottom and such. Also, just as pp have said buying a separate infant bath seems a little much.
