My dd is 8 months old & isnt crawling yet. She sometimes acts like she wants to & will inch worm. My ds never really crawled but he was walking at 11 months. But now people keep saying how she should be crawling & pulling up on everything. I can ignore it but its starting to really irritate me. I thought crawling wasn't even considered a milestone! Sorry this is mainly me complaining!! Thanks for listening!!
Mine is 8 months 2 weeks and not anywhere near crawling. He wont even get up on all fours, and is definitely not pulling up on things. My pedi says that he is eveloping beautifully so I'm not worried!
Lo isn't crawling either. He does try to pull up on toys and such. If he lays on his tummy he just lays there or try to reach for his toy or put his hands in his mouth, but does not get on all fours. I just got an email that said crawling is 7-11mo. So don't get frustrated....it'll happen. If it makes you feel any better......My MIL calls once a week asking, not sure why since they live 6 hrs from us!!
You're right - it's NOT a milestone. It's just one of those things people think all babies do and some babies just don't. Mine will be 8 months on the 5th and he wants to stand but doesn't make any attempt at getting on all fours so definitely no crawling over here lol
Neither of my older two walked until 12 months. Before that, the oldest only crawled for two weeks before walking and the next oldest backward crawled RIGHT before walking...er, running.
They are now 7 and 8yo and smart, athletic kids. I know it seems like babies should do things on a specific schedule and if they don't, they will fall behind or there might be something wrong. It just isn't so, though.

People are so unrealistic about what babies can do and when. Just keep ignoring them and let it roll off.... I'm sure you're an awesome mama and you know what's best. People just need something to talk about.
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
DD is nearly 9 months and has been rocking on her knees and scooching backwards for a little over a week now. it might not be as common, but from what I've read, it isn't the end of the world for her to not be crawling yet.
My DS just turned 7 mo yesterday and is not even close. He still pretty much hates tummy time, but tolerates it better. He LOVES standing and bouncing though and is just starting to pull himself up.

Hi, its funny b/c my DD is 8 1/2 months & she crawls backwards & in circles. I went to a Gymboree class & a lot of 7 month old babies were crawling and standing. It is hard not to compare but I wondered how come some develop faster.
My LO will be 9 mos in a week. He wasn't crawling at 8 mos either. He started crawling around 8 1/2 mos, although at first he would only go a very short distance.
