eczema?

I've been dealing with a rash on my LO's face it seems since birth. We've tried several lotions and all of them seem to work at first and then stop. We've tried coconut oil, Vaseline, California Baby, Aveeno and now hydrocortisone cream with Aquafor. The HC seems to make him cranky after a few days. My pedi thinks it might be formula related eczema? She suggested I switch to Nutramigen. I tried a bottle this morning and DS would not take it. Has anyone else dealt with anything like this? Any remedies? He just learned he can scratch on purpose so he's been scratching his cheek and it seems like it's really bothering him now :( He was also on soy formula when he was born due to how much he spit up but it made him constipated and he really didn't drink much of it.

Thanks for reading - sorry it's so long. I'd put a cute pic up for your time but I'm mobile and it doesn't work :(

  • Um never dealt with that but if you go to the bottom and search for eczema related posts there was one made by @petdocd who gives you very detailed instructions on how to relieve eczema coming straight from her dermatologist. I would try those out and see how it works.

  • My lo has food allergies and as soon as I figured them all out, her rashes and eczema went away. Her allergies include: gluten, soy, dairy, all meat, egg yokes, nuts, coconut, mango and kiwi. Soy is a top allergen. If you're on soy formula, that may be it.
  • Thanks everyone! I'll try Cetaphil lotion next. @findingnemommy aww poor lil girl! Hopefully those food allergies go away! Go you for figuring that all out!

Oy, yours are worse than mine, I'm sorry. I'm eliminating milk, soy, eggs, seafood, and struggling big time. I know there has to be at least one more though cause his tummy gurgles still an doesn't seem comfortable. How did you start eliminating certain fruit? Just noticed a rash the next day?

Yeah I forgot fish too haha. One at a time. With the mangos it was really obvious. The nuts took a couple of days. Depends on the severity of the intolerance. Mine starts with a tiny patch of eczema, then neck rash, belly, upper arms, then diaper rash, tears around anus, blood in stool. Her cradle cap flares as well. You know your baby best so any little thing you notice to be off could be the first sign
