Quick background:
Me: 36 (will be 37 when WeeNut is born). I have a 16 year old from a previous boyfriend.
Him: 46 (will be 47 when WeeNut is born). He has a 12 year old son with his ex-wife.
We've been together for about a year and a half. We got married in October, but had been trying since late June/early July once I had my Mirena removed, so it was a planned pregnancy. We were starting to get worried as we'd been TTC for 6 months, and nothing. I'm plenty fertile (my doc said I pretty much seem to get pregnant if I drop trou), so we were starting to look in to fertility doctors when, the day after Christmas, after realizing my breasts were REALLY hurting, and that the smell of coffee (which I usually like [though I don't drink it]) was making me want to vomit. I hadn't wanted to admit the possibility to myself as we thought we were pregnant in November, but found out we weren't. We both took that pretty hard with lots of tears and some depression on my part.
Anyway, took 1 pregnancy test. Came back positive. Husband said "Yeah, I don't trust that .98 cent test from WalMart. Get a REAL one." *sigh* Bought another one. Also positive.
So far, this pregnancy has been SO different from my first pregnancy.
With my son, I was 20 years old and had INCREDIBLY irregular cycles. Didn't realize I was pregnant until I was almost 5 months (yes, 6 months and no period wasn't uncommon for me back then). No morning sickness, no back pains, nothing abnormal.
THIS pregnancy has been HELL on my body. My husband keeps reminding me that I'm older (Thanks dear!), so it's naturally going to be rougher on my body. Morning sickness ALL day for the first 12 weeks. Now I'm just "urpy" in the mornings and if I go too long without eating. My back is already hurting. This breast pain is AWFUL. Wah-wah-wah.

I wouldn't trade it for the world, but MAN is this rough this go-around.
Anyways, just wanted to say "Hi!"
I'm still trying to figure out all of the TLAs being used (Three Letter Anachronisms); is there some kind of useful link?
Looking forward to getting to know some "older" Mommies (and hopefully some older Daddies as mine is in a TIZZY that he'll be 65 when, in theory, WeeNut will graduate from High School).

Re: Quick Intro and HI!
I think there is a post somewhere about the abbreviations but sorry I don't have the link to it -- you could try searching. To me this board seems to actually write words out more than some others (like the birth month boards).
Each pregnancy is different. I don't think symptoms are really tied to age. Hope you feel better soon.
January PAL siggie challenge; Good advice:
1. Congrats!!
2. This is my 3rd baby.
My first kiddo is 12 years old. I would get nauseous, but never sick. I had irritable uterus, BH contractions early on...PTL, and waddled at 28 weeks.
My second kiddo is 15 months old. I had morning sickness, exhaustion (I'd fall asleep working - I worked from home). I slept a lot in third trimester, I was sore and uncomfortable from 5 months on.
This time, I didn't have any symptoms until I hit 6 months pregnant (except that one day I vomited that caused me to take a test at what turned out to be 9 weeks pregnant). I have felt absolutely wonderful. I can walk quickly still, I can climb stairs, my back hurts less that either of my previous pregnancies. I'm due in 1.5 weeks and in general I still feel great.
3. I hope you feel better soon. Take it easy. And best wishes!!

Sorry, posted this on a Friday afternoon at work...and I pretty much avoid computers Sat/Sun.

Looking forward to getting to know some people near my age. I always feel so old when I tell people I'm "over 35 and pregnant".
