June 2013 Moms

You guise, I'm torn

We've taken Aiden to an amusement park near my ILs for the past two summers and he really likes it.  I thought this year we might do an actual vacation (like, stay overnight) and to to Sesame Place the first week in June.  Except, Quinn is going to be too little to go on anything.  He'll be able to do the splash areas, see the parades and maybe a couple little things, oh and see the characters.  Is it lame to spend a chunk of money (we're not rolling in it lol) on something only one of them will really enjoy?  Or am I completely underestimating how much enjoying those few things will bring Quinn?  I really don't know.  I'm not a ride person so I have no issue not going on stuff to stay behind with Quinn.

We were also going to visit the Please Touch Museum and I'm honestly not sure how much he'd get out of that at just a year old either.  But I feel like if we put it off until next year Aiden, who would be over 5, will be like "Sesame Street is soooo for babies!" lol

I live in that area, and my 9 and 7 year old nieces still go to sesame place. There's a lot of older-type rides, like mini roller coasters that they like to go on. I, shamefully, went to Sesame Place when I was 14 with some friends for Halloween. It was pretty fun riding the roller coasters at night. I say go for it!

ETA: I plan on taking DD there this summer. I think she'll have a blast.

  • My sister has been bringing her girls to sesame place since they were 1 and 4, every summer. They loved it as little babies and kids!

  • Ok, I just looked it up and it's 45 minutes from the hotel we're looking at.  36 miles.  Tell me it doesn't take 1.5 hours to drive 36 miles lol

  • with traffic and stuff, it's closer to an hour, hour and a half. I live in the area, so I know how congested that area can get.

  • Jesus, really?  We're going on a weekday and the park opens at 10:30 - does that change your thoughts on how long it'll take? This is bumming me out because switching hotels for a night kind of sucks.

  • You should be OK. There might be some back up at the six flags entrance, but other than that it's fine. Google always under estimates the time. I've been there many times, and it definitely does take at least an hour to get there.

  • Ok, I can handle an hour.  Anything more than that starts to get into "should we switch hotels" territory.
