Well, we have officially booked our spring get-away to Vegas to celebrate my birthday and I guess you could call it our babymoon (even though I am not a fan)!! It's just DH and I going for 3 days in mid-April. While I know this is not the most ideal place for a pregnant woman, we both loved Vegas the first time and wanted to go back. We are staying at Vdara (which is smoke and casino free) and were trying to come up with things to do.
We will spend a little time here and there in casinos gambling, but typically don't gamble for longer than an hour or two in one sitting. So what would you all suggest for us to see and do? What is your favorite hidden spots and must sees. Anyone have shows they would recommend? And any thoughts on going to the old part of Vegas? Like the downtown area?
We have been to the Hoover damn and went to Zumanity last time we were in Vegas.
Thanks!!
Re: NBR: Who's been to Vegas?!
Oooh, I am looking forward to responses here. We're going in a few weeks too. I've been several times, but not in a very long time. so I can't give many good suggestions.
In regards to downtown Vegas, if you're looking for something to do one night, if I remember correctly, the light show was pretty neat. I'm planning to do that on this trip.
DH has never been to LV, so I'm looking forward to taking him. We'll be staying at Planet Hollywood.
I hope you get a nice view of the fountains from your room. If not, ask for one.

Downtown/Old Vegas is a great place to just walk around. A lot of street performers and prime people watching, though be forewarned of drunken antics and shenanigans. You may also want to plan a day of shopping (both high end and cliche) and exploring the strip/casinos. It may be cheesy but its still fun to ride the gondolas in the venetian or go up the Eiffel tower in Paris or even see the pawn shop from Pawn Stars.
Personally I will be planning a little spa/pamper time while he gets some golf in. Shows are mainly to taste, but I loved Zumanity and shows like Penn and Teller or the othee crique shows are always a good times. I'd say go do as much or little as you feel like, enjoy some pampering or swimming (especially if its a novelty since you are currently living in the artic, formerly know as the Northern US) and cheese it up as a tourist as much as you want - its Vegas, no one judges.

We went for our honeymoon and saw Cirque du Soleil's KA show and Love show. Both were awesome! We saw Carrot Top's comedy show which was really funny. The Lion King musical was great, and we ended with the Blue Man Group which was my least favorite.
