The Little Gym - pricing?

Can anyone give me an idea of pricing for The Little Gym? I know they go by season. It probably varies by location, but I just want to get an idea. We were going to sign up for a free introductory class in the next few weeks, but I don't want to go if the cost is outrageous. I'm also wondering if we should just wait until next fall and do this more as a "cold weather" alternative. Pretty soon it will be warm enough to go the park every weekend and let her run around like a banshee for free. :)

Re: The Little Gym - pricing?

  • We looked into another brand of kid gyms, I think it ended up being around $10 per class plus you could come for open gym time. We decided that for our family, it would be better suited for a winter activity because there are so many other things we can do outside for free once it gets warm.

I did add it to DD's birthday/Christmas list.

  • We did Gymboree last year (same kind of thing) and the base sign up for 1 class/week + open play times was $65/month.
They ran a special over the summer which I think was unlimited classes (3-4x/week for his age) for 3 months for $120 which was totally worth it.

  • Thanks for the info. We can't really take advantage of unlimited classes or certain hours for open play because we can only get there on weekends. Actually, we might have time for a weeknight depending on timing, but it would only be one a week. I think we might hold off until the fall.

  • We just registered this week. $74/month. If you're a teacher, you get a 10% discount. We were supposed to have our introductory class tomorrow but were hit with an ice storm today. :( Give them a call!

  • I just tried to find where the nearest Little Gym is to me, seems like something Sawyer would like. It's 79 miles away, what the hell. Guess we won't be trying it.

      Emma Rose - 9.14.05    Beckett - 5.26.07    Sawyer - 9.22.12    Lennon Mae - 9.26.14
  • Wow, @jenndub that would be quite a day trip!

Hmmm...At $74 a month, if we can only get to 4 classes that's $18.50 for each 45 minute class. I don't think I can justify that.

  • Check your area for other kid gyms as well, some are more cost prohibitive than others.

Also look into gymnastics gyms. We did Gymboree when James was a baby but started doing a gymnastics class at a real gym when he turned 15 months. It was cheaper too.

  • Ours is relatively expensive with no discounts. I think it is like $18 a class. BUT, I signed up when there was a groupon, so I got a membership and a month of classes for next to nothing, then discounted price for the season.

  • @Flamingemu - I thought of you because your LO always looks like she's having such a blast there! I'm not opposed to spending the money in the winter when we're DYING for something to do just to get out of the house.

Which is why we started. I needed something for that child to burn energy!

  • My plan was to check out the free intro class at all the gyms. We have The Little Gym, My Gym, and a few local tot gym stuff. Even if it ends up too expensive, that's four or five free sessions, so we can compare and figure out what he would like best for next year.

Unfortunately most of the weekend classes are full so quickly. :( I don't know why it's so hard to explain that I work during the day. Even when saying I work during the day, two of the gyms were like "you can come Tuesday at 10." :(

  • I just found a coupon code for 2 free intro classes - StrideRite. It says participating locations, but not specifically. Try it if you want an extra freebie.
