Belly touching

I am a private person bc I have had history of abuse. Now that I'm pregnant, n showing , it seems my belly is anyone's to touch. I screamed at a stranger touching n moving my sweater to touch my belly n I hit another stranger who walked right up to me touching me. What ever happened to respecting another persons body? Is this common? Am I over reacting? I feel only my husband has the right to belly rub me.

    No you're not over reacting. It drove me absolutely insane when people would touch me. But it's worse when they are on the outside and every single person you pass feels the need to try and touch the babies or stop you to stare at them and ask dumb questions.

    It doesn't happen to me often so when it does I'm taken aback.

    I don't mind it from family. Touch away. But acquaintances, coworkers, strangers... back the eff off. I'm not a confrontational person though so I usually just smile uncomfortably and try to get out of the conversation as soon as I can.

    Thankfully I'm not showing enough yet for people to start touching me, but I dread that it's coming. I'm not a touchy-feely person and do not even like "close-talkers". Stay out of my personal space, people!! lol I agree with MrsLee, rub the offender's belly. Heck, maybe even pinch a little fat. ;)

    I don't think you are out of line.  I had the same thing happen to me all. the.  time!   Get some of those "Hi, my name is" stickers.  Write "Keep Your Hands OFF!!"  and stick it to your tummy.  Turn away from people if they reach out to touch you.  Put your hands over your tummy, protecting it/you.  Make a shirt that says "If you touch my belly, I WILL use my tazer on you!

    I guess I am different; I am totally ok with it! How can people resist? There are babies in there!! Amazing!

    I cringe at the thought of anyone I don't know touching my stomach when I'm farther along. I think I'm going to have to try hard not to start screaming bloody murder! Thanks for the tips though. :)

    Honestly if anyone touched my stomach right now I think I'd punch them. It is so stretched it's painful!

    Given your history, I understand. I on the other hand loved when people gave a friendly "hi" to the babies. For some reason I always had a little more trust in the people with enough guts to come strike up a conversation and touch my belly. They never touched it more than somebody who brushed up against my shoulder by accident.

    It's your body so feel free to block people without guilt.  I must give off a standoff-ish vibe because no strangers have touched my belly yet.  It could also be that my husband looks a little intimidating and he's pretty protective of my belly.  My family and friends have rubbed a little but it doesn't bother me when they do it.  I have gotten many strangers come up to me to make stupid comments or bother me with personal questions.  Old people seem to be the worst!

    Oh hell no, a stranger? You will get smacked for that. If that is a trigger for you, that really stinks that you have to deal with that from total strangers. I am so sorry!

    Family and close friends, I don't have any issues with that.

    Co-workers, Creepy. Yuck.

    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!
