If I were this mom, I'd be a little more worried about why my daughter is showing people her privates than the adults in the room. I mean, they need something, but why is a little girl showing random people at her desk her privates?
This has to only be curious touching ... right? Like, "look, this is what I have, and this is what you have," ... right??
I mean, I hope to whatever you believe in that 5 year olds aren't passing around the clap ...
right?
This is what I sincerely hope. But I can't imagine what they were doing that the parent felt STD testing was necessary! I desperately hope it's overreaction.
I deal with similar stuff to this at work all of the time. Some kids are just more curious then others. Kids see so much on tv and in the media now, way more then we ever did. Parents just need to make sure they are having discussions with their kids about what is appropriate in public and what is not. Just because some kids are showing sexualized behaviors, does not mean they themselves have been sexually abused.
Re: Kindergarten is race-y all over the country apparently!
That's what I was thinking. I kind of want to know more details just to see if this was blown out of proportion or a legitimate thing.
I just found this.
