My 3 1/2 month old has been exclusively breast fed from day 1, and he was a pro right from the start. Aside from a small oversupply issue on 1 side from about 4-10 weeks, we have had no problems. He started DC about 3 weeks ago when I went back to work, and he takes my pumped milk without a problem. Since he started DC (don't know if it's a coincidence or related), he is occasionally fussy at the boob and will scream for a bit but he will eventually latch on. Now enter this week.Monday: fine
Tuesday: he refused to eat in the morning before DC. He had eaten once in the middle of the night around 4 AM (this has been standard for him for many weeks), and when I tried to feed him around 7 AM he refused. I eventually gave up and took him to DC and told them he hadn't eaten since 4.
Wednesday: Same thing in the morning, only it was a bit earlier (around 6:30). I took a shower and got myself dressed and eventually he ate.
Today: I tried at 7 AM, and then stopped and tried again around 7:30 and he ate for all of 30 seconds in between screaming his head off. The odd thing is he was super happy when he wasn't on the breast. As soon as he got near it he screamed again.
Some other info that might be useful - he is at day care from about 8:15 AM - 6:15 PM, and I live 2 minutes from DC so that is the same amount of time he is out of the house. At home I usually feed him around 7 AM before getting him dressed and out the door, 6:45 PM after I get home, 9PM before bed, and around 4 AM or whenever he wakes in the middle of the night. They usually feed him 3 bottles about 4-4.5 oz each. I pump at work, but I only pump 2 times (around noon and 4 PM) and from those 2 sessions I usually get about 16-18 oz, so I have enough for the next day and 1 extra to freeze.
Thanks for any insight! And sorry it was so long!
