Love You Forever Book

So, I love this book. Have always loved this book, since I was itty bitty and my mom read it to me. (Apparently some people think it is slightly creepy...)

But, if you know this book I would encourage you to read the article and check out what the author says about it on his webpage. Turns out it is based on a song he wrote after he and his wife had two stillborn babies. For me, it just makes this story so much more special since I've always loved it and dreamed of reading it to my little boy. (The link is at the bottom. Hopefully it works!)

I love this book, it is one of my faves. The first time I heard it was at my ds pre k, and I just about ugly cried.

Reading the article the book gives a whole new meaning..

I NEVER KNEW THAT!!! Honestly, I'm so glad I read this post. I wanted to buy this book for my boys. My husband and I still read to them every night, hoping that they hear us from heaven. But I couldn't bring myself to read it because of the ending... I knew my baby boys would never grow older with me. Now I feel like I can read it. Thank you for sharing!

Ok, I feel a little crazy admitting this....but I've been feeling like I want to sit on the rocker in Jack's room and read to him. Even though he obviously is not physically present I can still feel him around me and I want to acknowledge it. After reading this link the other day on someone's Facebook page, I think this is the book I'd like to read him.

I found out the meaning of the book around the time of Devon's first angelversary, and I haven't been able to read that book since. It made me teary when I first read it, but now that I know the meaning behind it, I just can't. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to read that book again without bursting out into tears.

I will admit that if I'd known the meaning of the book beforehand, and thought about it more, I probably would have had that baby saying [the one that the mom says throughout the book to her son as he grows up] put in Devon's memorial program. That part is what gets me the most. Gah - I'm tearing up just thinking about it.
