I seem to be having a lot of these spells...I will be sitting still and all of a sudden get light headed... the room isn't spinning... and I feel sick to my stomach...any ideas?? I had my thyroid checked and its fine..
I've been having a lot of spells of light headedness and dizziness, but it's typically when I'm standing up. Sitting down, drinking water, and having a snack usually makes me feel better.
Drink more water, try to eat more protein. How is your iron levels? That used to happen to me because I was anemic. (Then later because of my blood pressure)
I saw my OBgyn today for this, because the lightheadedness had progressed to fainting- scary! Definitely call your dr and make sure everything is okay!! In my case, he feels like its a combination of low blood pressure, mild anemia, and stress. I'm a ftm and feel so relieved that I went ahead and saw my dr, even though my friends kept saying it was 'just pregnancy'. It does seem common in pregnancy, but always good to rule any other problems out! Praying you feel better soon!
I have very very low blood pressure even when I'm not pregnant, for me pregnancy makes it worse. I get dizzy every time I sit up or stand up and other than wearing compression socks there is nothing I can do. Let your doctor know for sure though.

I experienced something like this tonight at work. I had been feeling fine, and I was on my lunch break and eating my dinner. All of a sudden, I was super nauseated and threw up all over the breakroom floor (I was running for the trash can and didn't make it). About an hour later, I was standing next to a register and felt like my entire uterus did a belly flop. All of a sudden I felt super dizzy and evidently looked like I was going to pass out. My cashiers went running for a chair so I could sit. I was sent home to rest. Not sure where all this came from
I get light headed when I go any longer than a minute without eating after I get hungry. I know, once I feel the first signs of hunger I need to eat something or I'll be light headed and sick to my stomach in no time.
@bjlarson0922 please keep us updated that everythings okay with you and baby! & I'm sure you know this, common sense, but just thought I'd add that after my incidents, my dr was very firm about me not showering or taking a bath while alone at home- to make sure someone's in the next room or close enough to hear me. Still praying and thinking o you and LO!
I have this quite frequently too and like a PP said I have low blood pressure. Low normally, very low when pregnant. My Dr. says there isn't much to do about it but to keep hydrated and transition from laying to seated to standing slowly. Sit back down when you get dizzy. Not super helpful, but that has been the advice I have been given with all my pregnancies.
I have been having te same thing with heart palpatations for two weeks. It was getting very bad that I had to lay down in a subway station and on another coworkers called the nurse because they thought I was having a heart attack. My doctor had me go to a cardiologist who ran tests and blood work. Everything came out normal and he believes because I am short (4ft 11in) that the baby is pushing up in my lungs and heart which limit blood flow and oxygen. I was advised to avoid stairs, stressful situations, and carry water with me. I'm also wearing an event heart monitor for a month. Luckily it is not dangerous for the baby, just annoying for me. Good luck!
Update.... I felt better after kicking my feet up but now after working 12 hours at works...feeling worse..gonna call the on unit for some advice of to go in or not
