Had to start this because

SLEEP

God give me the strength. I wouldn't care at all except she just wails and wails and wails. If she wanted to stay up all night and have a party, I'm fine with it but not wailing. We've already done a bath from our massive poop explosion earlier. Welcome to frickin' motherhood.

PSA: I love my daughter to the moon and back. I'm just aggravated and venting.

We had our 3rd snow day in a row today. It was 40 degrees, the roads were dry and there is no ice in sight. I teach HS. 1 snow day= good! 3 in a row right before spring break and end of the quarter for no reason? Suck it.

Did you call your pedi? If so, what did they say?

I agree with tig, you should call the pedi. Even if they find nothing, they can help you figure out ways to keep her from wailing.

OH! And I just remembered! DD hated clothes that had tags in them! She's more tolerant of them now but at first she absolutely would not have any clothes with tags. Check the onesies you're putting her in. I also put "under-onesies" on DD, which curbed any problems with tags and probably is the reason she's ok with tags now.

Bd why are you so fucking stupid? Ds is 7 months old not seven years old. He does not need to be on your marine scheduale. Im not makimg him stay up till 9 then leave him in his crib till nine. No im not cutting him down to one one hour nap.

No im not cutting down his feedings too three meals and a snack. If you quit acting stupid ill stop talking to you like your a neanderthal.

@eg214 have you talked to your midwife at all? What your describing sounds a lot like post partum depression.

I was at the MW's today. They said her crying before sleep is normal and to try keeping track of when she goes down for bed and putting her down before. She might be over tired/overstimulated. We go to peds today so I will also ask them.

Nah no PPD. I feel great, truly. Just last night I had taken no naps during the day, was exhausted, & just wanted her to stay asleep. For some reason she kept waking up after like 30-45 min each time...aka no rest for me.

Ah and I figured out last night she was pissed about her head being propped up. After I took the head support thing out of her swing...she passed out.

This morning I guess it was she didn't get enough milk. Ugh! Its something different each time. I nursed her and she was content for about 45 minutes and then wailed. Swing didn't work so I nursed her again on the opposite side...burped her...had her chill for a bit...noticed she was getting restless and put her in her swing with nature music going on my PC. She's as quiet as can be now in her swing. I just can't tell what she wants and she doesnt stop when she's full at the boob. She overeats a lot and spits up massive through her mouth and nose...so I never know when she's hungry still or over eating. I will talk to my pediatrician about this today. I don't want to continue to feed her every time she's fussy just to have her puke half the time.

Babies need as much as they can get, you can't really overfeed them this young. Yeah, it's a little aggravating when they spit up so much (I was always a little upset because I had such a hard time trying to produce enough milk to even be able to breastfeed her) but they need all those nutrients. And, for the most part, spit up isn't that bad. It may seem like a lot but it probably isn't really all that much in reality. I used to freak out and my mom was like "that's normal".

Let us know what the pedi says!

Thanks y'all. I might just keep trying the boob when she's fussy. She is gaining weight bc two weeks ago she was almost 8lbs and yesterday she was 9.3 with clothes on so she's def getting milk well and I'm not starving her but I will ask. I just hate her choking when she does spit up sometimes. Scares me.

Its normal, if she was spitting up so much she isnt gaining weight id say to ask your pedi about the possibility of acid reflux. It also might be food sensitivity or a need to comfort nurse.

@minnesotamomma91 - Thanks, yeah I think it might be a comfort nurse thing. Twice now I've fed her more (stopped, played or whatever, and then back on boob) and she's done SO much better sleeping so I really hope that's the trick.

The ped said she's okay to cry for 15-20 minutes if she isn't in pain, danger, etc. If her diaper is dry, she's fed, burped, etc. She said she had one other baby like that who just wanted to be left alone and didn't want all of the stimulation and stuff and sometimes they can be just overstimulated. So I feel good about where we are at. Just going to try to feed her more or bring her to the breast when she's fussy and see if that helps. If it doesn't, she's okay to cry for a bit.

Sooooo nap #2 with "topping her off" and she didn't fuss at all. I feel like an awful mom. If this was all she wanted/needed...I feel horrible. I'm sort of telling myself its just an awesome fluke, though the not wailing is nice. I guess I should look at the positives: She's a chunker monker so I wasn't starving her, maybe we found the solution, and she isn't wailing.

DO NOT FEEL BAD! You and your dd are still learning each other. And nursing is hard. You cant physically see how much they are eating. You are doing a great job. Dont be to hard on yourself

Your welcome. And i understand how hard bf can be. I tried to for about two montha but bentley was born without knowing how to latch so the lc gave me a nipple shield(worst idea ever!) Then my supply couldnt keep up with him, the i develouped a cluster of plugged ducts that i couldnt get unplugged then my supply tanked then i got mastitis then i said fuck it.

Both ds and i are happier now that hes ff but i still wish i could have bf longer other then all my problems bfing i loved it

Yeah I do love it. A lot. Like, wanna shout it from the rooftops but don't want people to think I'm a freako who enjoys it for the wrong reasons or is shoving it in their face. It's been pretty easy for me physically which was a surprise because of my hormone imbalance so I'm enjoying every moment bc I worry about how long it will last. I hope I can nurse her for a solid year at least.

Yikes! Sounds like you had every BF nightmare possible. At least you were able to for a little bit. I'm a believer that any little bit is better than none, esp in those first few days/weeks.
