I used it a lot while EPing. Try putting honey in it rather than sugar or splenda. Its really tasty with honey. Also, you have to let it steep a long time, like 10 minutes, and you have to drink 3 cups of it a day to see any benefit. I got so sick of drinking it all the time.
I drank this to try to get my milk to come in. I thought it tasted like black licorice at first and then sausage. I found the best way to get rid of the awful sausage after-taste was to actually eat sausage. Or just chug it. I did that, too.
I love drinking it straight, but if you need to sweeten it up, honey would be my choice. I drink it every night as dessert and call it my Tea and Crumpet time. My crumpets are actually lactation cookies....Maybe your tea just needs some cookies to go with it, the recipe I use for the cookies is from milkinmamas.com

Well, that's not true for everyone. I saw plenty of benefit on just 1 cup a day.
I drink no more than 3 a day, but here's the other stuff I changed (i cant isolate exactly what did the trick, but it worked... My milk is in!)
I put little one on for 10 mins each side (she's not an effective nurser... doesn't open wide enough yet), give her a bottle of an ounce and a half of breast milk THEN pump for 10 minutes.
While pumping, I have a 20 ounce water bottle I down (every time I pump).
She eats every 3 hours, sometimes more frequently. I drink the tea after 3 of the pumps, and usually pump 6 times in a day.
My thoughts... Drink A LOT of water, stimulate your breasts to produce milk often, drink the tea and cross your fingers!!
