Eh, who cares? Nothing about that is surprising to me, it is the nature of the show. No one is safe from their criticism and they have said a lot worse about others.
Comments about bump size always annoy me because they're always stupid. That being said - Elsa Pataky is a gorgeous woman and she's just glowing and beautiful in her pregnancy, BUT. That dress is absolutely horrid. The color and fabric are beautiful, but the style is ridiculous. The top looks like a bag - in close ups it's so unflattering on her bust and bump, she looks like both are just hanging in it. If it had an empire waist instead of a drop waist it would be stunning.

I didn't have a problem with them saying the dress was ugly, it's what they are getting paid for. I do however think that commenting on her bump was not nice and not necessary.
Let's face it, in the beauty battle between Joan Rivers and Elsa Pataky, Elsa wins no matter what way you look at it
I was pretty offended. I get that it's "their job" but I don't particularly care for their show. It's against everything I believe to constantly cut people down, show or no show. That being said, I'm not a fan of the dress.... But I hope Iook as good as she does that far along and pregnant with twins.
I was scrolling through the Oscar red carpet photos on Monday and had an actual, physical reaction when I got to that dress. I was like "OMG, what the hell is that?!" It's bad.
I watch all those fashion police shows and find myself typically fast-forwarding through Joans comments, they aren't funny at all. I wish they'd just get rid of her. I like everyone else.
I think when they commented on her belly looking like a beer belly...it was a comment on how the dress fit, not that she was too pregnant or too big.
I don't have a problem with the comments overall. I would imagine that every celebrity going to an awards show, especially the Oscars, realizes they are the target of ridicule from Joan Rivers. I would also imagine that most don't give a crap.

I don't think Joan said anything too bad. The dress looked awful on her. And like George said, it looked like a beer belly, not a pregnant belly
