Hi ladies,
By way of background, with my prior pregnancy my water broke at 32 weeks, and my daughter was born about 12 hours later. Even after my water broke, I didn't dilate at all for hours, so my OB doesn't think I have any cervix issues. She said the HR OB would probably suggest progesterone shots this time around. I'm about 12 weeks now with #2, and have my first high risk OB appointment tomorrow (where they will also do the NT scan). I'm trying to prepare myself to ask questions to get a good idea of what's going on this time around, but I'm kind of at a loss, except to ask what our game plan will be.
I'd appreciate any insight or suggestions! Thanks so much.

Re: Intro and advice, please!
Welcome and congrats on your pregnancy!
Cervical issues tend to present themselves in the 2nd trimester, when the cervix is supporting more of the baby's weight. As the baby grows, the pelvic bone supports the weight. So, I would agree that it doesn't sound like you had a cervical issue with your DD (who is so cute, by the way!). I think the only way to know what happened was if a placental pathology was done after your daughter was born, and I don't think it's all that common to have them done. My completely uneducated, shot-in-the-dark guess is that perhaps there was an infection that caused your water to break early?
I don't really have any advice though since I do have cervical issues. Ask as many questions as you can, like if there are any restrictions on your daily activities, how often will you be coming in for ultrasounds, any signs/symptoms to especially watch out for, etc. Best of luck with everything!
@MissChanandlerBong, thanks for the info! My OB mentioned potential infection, and I remember the MFM doc mentioning it when I went into labor, but since my water had already broken they said it would be hard to test for anything at that point (no one mentioned placental pathology, hmm). I'll be sure to ask them. But my OB did say they'd monitor me more carefully for that this time. I recall last time during my pregnancy, I suspect I had something going on because (TMI) I thought things smelled different. They checked me out and didn't find anything, but I'm guessing now with my history they'll probably check more thoroughly.
