NWMR: Bike seats

My husband and I are considering getting seats for our bikes so our kids can ride with us.  My daughter is 4 and weighs 31 pounds and my son is almost 2 and weighs almost 29 pounds, any suggestions?  My daughter is too little and goes too slow to ride with us on a regular basis so skipping the seat for now with her will not work if we are going to all ride together.  The trailer style is interesting but seems like a lot of weight to pull, although I wonder how well I can keep a bike up with an additional 30 pounds on it.  Any suggestions would be great.  TIA

    What kind of riding do you want to do?  DH pulls both kids in a double trailer (made by Chariot), and it's quite a workout for him.  We would like to get a tandem attachment for DS to ride behind DH.  Then I'd get a seat for DD for the back of my bike.  We would use those for bike trails, not riding in traffic.  The big trailer with a flag and blinkers seems safest for that.
    DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.

    Thanks for the info.  I did not even consider the tandem attachement I will look into that.   We would mainly be riding in our neighborhood and trails I really don't want to take the kids out in traffic other than our neighborhood traffic.
