DS2 is 3 weeks old and we are finally getting somewhat efficient at breastfeeding. I haven't left the house much because it's been so cold but I really want to go out for supper or something soon.
So here's my dilemma, I'm so nervous about nursing in public. What if he doesn't latch or freaks out because of the cover? I'm not sure I'm ready for the nasty looks/comments from people either.
Any advice on nursing in public? How did you get comfortable with it? When did you first do it?
I have support to breastfeed but little support from friends/family about nursing in public. My view is if he was ff like my other 2 kids, feeding him in public wouldn't be an issue. TIA
Re: frustrated. . NIP
If I know I'm going to NIP, I wear a nursing tank with a cardigan or T-shirt and unbutton the cardigan or pull up the Tshirt so I'm really not showing any skin. I just had to fake the confidence until I really had it. I refuse to nurse in a public bathroom (gross!) and only nurse in the car if that's what is most convenient.
You can do it!

I practiced in the carrier at home before NIP so that I could figure out the logistics. Otherwise I'm usually just covered up at a restaurant, but he doesn't love the cover now at this age.
