So baby Sophia ran a low grade fever last Thursday and had some mild congestion. I called the ped and she said to keep an eye on her but that I shouldn't worry. Well, her congestion continued through the weekend, but no more fever so I didn't think much of it. Last night, after bath time and nursing, she started this nasty wet cough and couldn't catch her breath. Finally she spit up milk and phlegm and was able to breathe a little easier. This happened three times last night...and I was really starting to get worried.
DH took her to the ped today and she thinks she has RSV. They sent a culture to the lab and now I'm sitting waiting for her to get a chest x-Ray to check for pneumonia.
At this point I'm really trying hard not to freak the f- out!
I know I haven't posted much since returning to work, but positive thoughts, prayers, and/or advice would be much appreciated!
UPDATE
The test for RSV came back negative and the chest X-Ray came back normal. Looks like little miss just has a bad cold. Her ped wants us to give saline and mucinex to battle all the congestion.
Poor stuffy baby....
Thanks for the T&P!
