Belly button pain and stretching

I feel so silly asking this but is anyone else having pain around their belly button? Lying down or sitting it's okay but today it has been so painful walking, turning or when I touch it. I'm assuming it's stretching or the position of the baby?

Re: Belly button pain and stretching

  • I had it today too. No idea what it is.

  • I have a stretching/tight pain around my belly button and on the top of my belly. I also attribute it to stretching, but I have my next appointment tomorrow, and I do plan on mentioning it. It definitely seems to be stretching more than my last pregnancy, because my belly button was never this flat! I keep wondering how much more stretching my poor belly skin can take.

  • What belly button? Haha. No but seriously, my belly button is stretched into almost nothing at all, and is definitely more sensitive! Freaks me out.

  • Same thing for me, the skin is super tight there and just uncomfortable. I have a piercing there (I took it out at 20-ish weeks) so that makes it so much crappier.
  • I have a very deep innie that's been stretched until its shallow. Don't think it'll pop before baby arrives, but I'm absolutely getting stretching pains and itchiness. I just try to remember to put a little lotion on it at night and try very hard to leave it alone.

  • My poor belly button is a mess. I have a scar from a laporoscapy and a previous piercing hole. The whole thing gets more sensitive every week. I don't think it can take much more stretching! Putting lotion on daily does seen to help though.

  • I haven't had that. However, I did get a stretch mark through my belly piercing. Hawt.

Mine is too. The top half is less shallow and is sorta popping while the bottom is still in with a ways to go. I find myself poking it all the time and I'm sure I'm getting random side eyes.
This is me too - it's so weird looking!

  • My belly button feels gross. It hasn't popped yet but that area feels like a weak point, like my insides are going to burst through. When I bump into something it feels like it's going to pop.

  • Mine feels like pins & needles. It's been like that for about 3 months now. Dr said the muscle is "thinning" there and at my breast bone area. They're both sensitive.
  • Mine is a full on disgusting outie that is totally obvious through all of my shirts now.  I have been putting lotion on it, which helps but since its pretty much the furthest sticking out point on my entire body now, it tends to brush against things when I'm squeezing through a tight space, which is always now that I am about 5 feet from front to back, and it is really sensitive and uncomfortable.

Mine did the same thing back when I was pregnant with DS. I had heard it may happen, but figured since I took out my piercing right when I found out I was pregnant (4.5 weeks) that maybe I could avoid it. Nope. Pretty ugly lookin! Anytime someone asks for my opinion on belly button piercings now I strongly urge them not to if they're going to have kids- ha!
I wonder what causes that. I took mine out around 19 weeks. I have them everywhere else but my stomach. And then there's that one. Lol. It looks like a stretched piercing.
  • Mine feels like a really bad sunburn at the top if my belly. My belly button is also stretched out and feels tingly to the touch. My midwife said it all looked and sounded normal. It's just super uncomfortable and makes sleep difficult.
  • Interesting, my belly button is super sore to the touch, and everything feels super tight.  I had a lot of BH contractions last week and I thought it was related to that because everything hurt, but sounds like this may just be normal 3rd trimester fun?

  • First time around, my belly button oozed. This time, just getting flat and a little itchy. I find that I'll be absent-mindedly scratching it at work and have to stop.

Mine did that with DD. Went through it and above it. So gross looking. Its a good thing I wouldn't dare wear much less show off a belly button ring anymore :) it hasn't gotten any worse this time though.
