Anyone else noticing tons of zombie thread revivals? I don't know if it's because people are afraid to start new threads, but can we please be mindful of the old threads that are revived? Some of the ladies who may have started or participated in those threads are unfortunately no longer expecting their little ones. I imagine them getting tagged in their old posts can be hurtful.
Thanks, internet police out!
Re: Zombie Threads
Eta: on mobile I just saw the name of the last person who posted (I clicked right after the etsy girls post) so I didn't see the original poster, but I totally should have scrolled up and paid attention to the dates. I feel like a jerk.
However, for those who are new here, I feel like we're starting to ask them to walk on eggshells a little too much. I don't think it was fair to call the poster who resurrected Steph's thread insensitive. Clueless, yes, because she literally is, being new. As a newbie, if I joined now, there is very little chance that even with lurking I would know the names of those who are gone now. It's a tough line to walk. Steph took it with grace, as she does everything, and it will die again. I feel as though those of us who have been here since the beginning are overly sensitive sometimes. Not that we shouldn't be, this board has been through a hell of a lot, and I am in no way trying to downplay that, or the love and protection that we feel for our own. I just also feel like sometimes we react from the gut and I think it might deter new posters who could add to the board if they stuck around long enough. Just my two cents.

This.
Though it does seem like newbies are getting it much easier around here than before. I saw a name thread this morning and instinctively wanted to (pleasantly and nicely) redirect the OP to the Names board, but when I opened it, it seemed a bunch of people had contributed so I didn't want to step on any toes. I consider myself a "regular" and have been here since the beginning as well, but I'm just not sure how things are really supposed to work around here anymore.
