Out of curiosity, if you were prescribed medication for Post Partum Depression/Anxiety, are you still taking your meds?
I wrote on here a long time ago about battling severe post partum anxiety. My doctor prescribed Zoloft and I felt a million times better. After a couple of months, I decided on my own to stop taking it (I know, I know, I should have discussed it with my doc.) I still had some anxiety, but felt that I was able to handle it.
Well, with all of Emmett's health issues lately, I feel those same anxiety attacks coming back. I feel like my life is spiraling out of control and I cant stop it. I'm in a cycle of worry about what might possibly be wrong with Emmett. The worry has caused me to lose my appetite, my desire to talk to my friends, and is even hindering my milk let-down. My mom is concerned that I am still struggling with PPA.
Anyways, the point to all this is that I'm wondering how long PPD/PPA can last. I never really discussed that with my doctor. Should that have gone away by now? Do I just have a general anxiety problem now?
Re: PPD/PPA
You are a teacher right? I bet the time off will really help in the summer. Relaxation will help.
I also agree with others that you should talk to a doctor about meds especially since you know zoloft works for you.
