I try to cook a good dinner the days my step daughters are here. The other nights we have leftovers or order out. Ty doesn't like to sit still for very long so we don't eat out too often. I've been trying to limit our ordering out to once a week since its cheaper to cook. But some days I just don't feel like cooking.
We hardly ever eat out. At home I usually have to rush through a meal so I can take care of a kid. In a restaurant at least one of the kids is usually burnt out by the time I get my food, so I get to take the kids for a walk while Mr. Vals eats, then I box up my food to take home for later. Fuck that noise.
We have take-out occasionally, but it's usually only when both Mr. Vals and I are home for the evening, which only happens a few times a month on average.
One of my IRL friends and I are going out for lunch tomorrow to celebrate my birthday. The two big boys will be in school, so I'll have the two little boys with me. She's bringing her nephew, who was born the same week as Tom-Baby. I'm ridiculously excited for this.
Well, we are trying to eat out only for special occasions this year, and so far we are doing well, so I said almost never. Before, though, would have been once or twice a week... Or more! We were baaaad!
We are somewhere between once a week and several times a week. We really love to eat out but I also hope that as LO starts to eat beyond purées, we'll start eating better in an effort to ensure LO eats well. My husband travels a ton so when he's not here I usually eat something that can pop in the microwave or that I can get at the drive thru. Cooking for one is hard!
We usually try and reserve our dinner out 2-3 times a week for the weekend. We also try and meet up with another family so we can hang out/catch up each weekend.
I hate HATE HATE cooking and i'm terrible at it so we eat cheap take out A LOT and go out to eat a few times per month. I have actually made a few purees for LO but those were easy because it was just plain cooked apples, bananas, sweet potato, etc.
Im trying to limit it. It was up to once to three times a week. WE NEED TO SAVE money. Thats where ours was going after looking through my budget. Sigh.
