Black tongue? Update

So Aubrey has been very gassy since birth. We switched her formula to the enfamil gentelease which DS was also on. Well today when she was crying I noticed her tongue has black on it. I called the dr and we have an appointment at 4:15. But I just wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this?

My friend mentioned something about maybe the extra iron that's in enfamil or early signs of thrush...

UPDATE:
Dr was able to scrape it off her tongue so he wasn't concerned. He's thinking it's something coating her tongue like maybe the gas drops that I've been giving her. No real answer except it's not dangerous...

Never heard of this either and now you've got me curious! Please let us know what the dr says?

DD 1 had something called geographic tongue.... She out grew it

Wish I had seen this earlier! My cousin just went thru this with her DD and it was exactly what your doc said, the gas drops! She has horrible reflux and I guess that medication and the formula/BM make it easy to cake up on the tongue. Glad you got it checked out

DD grew out of it by age 4. It was really dark from ages 1-3 though
