Need Help with Graco Lauren Crib (or other espresso Graco products)!!

Yes, this fits better in 4 or 5 other threads.  I don't care.  I don't do this often.  Flame away.  One rule, if you're going to flame, you must include a gif, at least make it fun for others to read.

So, my crib was discontinued and my grandmother needs to know what different crib I want ASAP, like...today.  So, has anyone on here tried the Graco Lauren crib? How about in espresso??  Two concerns from the reviews: 1) It apparently does not come with a conversion kit, can a safety rail be attached for a toddler setup? Even though they all seem to be made for twin beds?  and 2) A lot of people apparently think the finish is too red toned, which I hate...anyone have this crib (or any graco products) in espresso? Is it too red, like closer to Cherry??

Thanks in advance for any help, I'm in a time crunch (per my grandma's request).  Also, remember the flame+gif rule.

  • we have it in white...but it's not assembled yet! So I'm not much help!

But..we also hav ethe Hemnes dresser from Ikea..the 8 drawer and I love it. It's in DD's nursery now and staying for #2. Great storage, great height for the changing pad and a great price!~

  • We bought the Lauren crib in Classic Cherry, and love it. I'm attaching a picture so you can see the difference in color. It arrived in very good shape, no obvious dents to it.

  • @letsgobowlingx I think we have the same crib. It's the Graco Stanton in espresso. I will also say ours does not look red at all - definitely a nice, dark espresso color. The Stanton is also a convertible but I bought ours second-hand so don't have the convertible pieces, nor do I plan to use them since we have a spare twin bed to move LO into when she's big enough. HTH!

  • We have the Graco Lauren in white.  As a pp said, it's so low to the ground that we didn't use a rail.  Just took the front panel off and it's worked as a toddler bed for the last 6 months.

  • We have the Graco Lauren in espresso and it isn't red to me at all! Ours isn't set up yet, so no pic, but we also registered for the conversion kit which was like 99 dollars. I was iffy on that at first, but was warned that it was better to register for it now, than have it be discontinued and not be able to get one if I change my mind later. I won't cry if we don't end up buying it. :)
