Realization? I have no 0-3 month clothes!

DD is only 17 months so I have known I will just use her clothes for DD2 and when people have asked if I needed clothes I have said no. I knew I didn't need to go through her clothes too early as I have them separated into 0-6months and 6-12months boxes. Well, I was having a quick glance yesterday and realized we left all her 0-3 and newborn (she wore nb for the first 5w) in the US as we were there visiting with her and didn't want the added weight coming back here.

Now I am debating whether we spent the money to purchase all new clothes, have my parents mail the 0-3 outfits to us or see if we get enough at our showers (just found out about these showers last week) this month. We do have about 6 outfits (only 2 sleepers) and 2 dresses (but winter starts the end of May) from my work shower last week.

Silly to stress over? Yes, I know, but stilll I needed somewhere to share! Thanks for listening!

  • I'd see what you get at your showers, maybe even add some stuff in that size to your registry, and afterwards if you still don't have anything do the math on the shipping cost of the stuff in the US vs going out and just grabbing some sleep sacks and onesies to last you a little while.  No idea what your budge is but if it was me and I knew most of her clothes would be hand me downs I'd want to get her new things just so she has some special things of her own for the first few months.

  • How expensive is it for your parents to ship your 0-3 month stuff out to you?  Would it be cheaper to just go buy some onesies and sleepers where you live?   If shipping isn't too expensive, then I'd just have them send stuff out.  If you get more at your shower, then that's great.  Can you really have TOO MUCH 0-3 month stuff anyway?  More clothes = laundry less often, right?

  • Haha! I'm not exactly sure what a box would cost, maybe around $50 for all the clothes. Onesies/outfits here cost between $10-15 so yes I think from the states would be cheaper. I think i will wait a few more weeks and see if we get enough.

  • I would wait and possibly have the host "spread the word" so to speak that you are in need of the smaller sizes. Maybe some people who were planning on purchasing clothes will get the message and know to purchase the smaller sizes. Hope it works out!
