DH and I have been having issues for awhile now and in the last couple weeks it's gotten...not great. We're good at pretending things are okay for the most part (read: we don't talk about our fights) but today was basically the last straw.
Basically, it boils down to his PTSD and it finally sinking in that he is dealing with depression and it's not whatever excuse he's been giving himself the last few months.
He's finally decided that he needs to talk to our marriage counselor about getting private sessions and even finding some anger management courses because his anger is getting out of control. He gets shaky from getting angry so easily and today he threw a toy down and thank god it didn't go near Noah who was sitting in front of him but it scared Noah into crying even harder.
He's also struggling more and more with going out of the house. Even the dog park, which use to be safe place for him, is no longer something he's comfortable doing and he gets anxiety over it.
Anyway, I guess what I'm asking is some thoughts and prayers be sent his way while he works this out.
I've looked into various animal therapy programs and I'm seriously considering seeing if he and his doctor feel like he is a good candidate for TADSAW which is a program that works with active duty and vets suffering with PTSD, other mental issues, and physical disabilities and trains them up with a dog (either one in the home or from a shelter) so that they have a service animal. Luckily for us, there is a program in place back home that works with TADSAW.

I would encourage him to talk to someone in his unit. So many people suffer from PTSD, it's not at all uncommon. It helps to have someone to talk to that has been through the same kind of stuff.
I'm so glad he is willing to seek private counseling. That is a huge step.
I hope he can find ways to work through this. I hope you both come out of this stronger together.
Giant hugs! PTSD is an awful mind fuck.

@etoille She is 2 at the end of the month. We actually discussed it and we aren't sure she'd pass because she is super timid even in familiar surroundings with new people.
@robynloureed I've looked into that, and told him it may be an option if he's interested since there are two programs within two hours of where we will be back home but he said he's more interested in the dog thing, not that I'm surprised lol
