Gift for a 12 YO girl

I have a b-day party for my 12 YO cousin and am at a loss for what to get her. I asked her mom, and she said "she likes girly things". Helpful.

Anyone have a pre-teen in their life? What are they into? The girl is question is sort of a "young" 12-- parents are strict, she's pretty sheltered etc. Any suggestions?

Also-- just as an add on, I logged on to Amazon, typed the words "teen girl gift" and this was the first thing that popped up

"Spa" like stuff. Lotions, nail polish, fun manicure sets. Hair bands.

I got my niece earrings and an earring holder, fun socks, an infinity scarf, and an itunes gift card. She just turned 12.

Ooh-- infinity scarf is a great idea.

I am trying to stay away from gift cards-- they just seem so impersonal, but I know that most people like them.

Last year I got my niece a scentsy pot that matched her room. If you don't have time to order they sell other tart warming pots. They are safer than candles IMO.

Damn! no we don't have Charming Charlie's but I keep hearing people tell me about this store. I need to go to one.

Anyway, back to her. Possibly a purse! I was also thinking about those alex + ani bracelets, but this girl is serioulsy teen tiny-- so I was thinking they might just be too big for her.

You could do the purse and fill it with a few things, if that's within your budget. Like a nail polish, a small lotion, shower gel. My DD is almost 8 and would love that!!!!
