My DD (#2) will be six weeks on Tuesday. For the last month, she'd usually spend a good 20-30 minutes (not counting breaks to burp or diaper change) nursing at a time. She'll usually go 2 1/2 to 3 hours between feedings during the day and 3-4 hours at night. The last couple of days, she's gone the same time between feedings, but she's spent MUCH less time eating, 8-15 minutes. She had one longer feed yesterday around 5:30 but that was it.
There isn't a change in her diapers. She's always had one full one per feeding. She's pulling away on her own.....so I'm not concerned about her intake. I'm just wondering if she's becoming more efficient at sucking. Will these shorter feedings be the norm (for some time anyways)? Is anyone else with a one month old experiencing this?
