Rentals when traveling

This might sound like a crazy question- well not really....
I will be traveling to visit family (who do not have children). I already plan on taking the pack-n-play for LO to sleep in but I am stumped at what to do about a car seat and high chair.  I really do not want to check a car seat and I do not want family to buy these items for my visit, so my question is...... does anyone know of stores (target, babies r us, kmart, etc.) that rent these items for 4+ days?
If not, what have you done when traveling?  Other tips when flying are welcomed :) THanks!

Re: Rentals when traveling

  • If you are flung you can check car seat for free unless you have a seat for lo - I used a cheap bouncy that I bought at my destination to feed him in and as far a flying there are tons of website with tips.. There are also rental website to rent these items at your destination ... Good luck!

  • Your baby absolutely needs their own seat on the plane and then you take the car seat with you.  Under no circumstances is it safe to rent a car seat.  You have zero idea how it was treated and therefore you don't know it's safe.  If you absolutely are decided that you will not have a seat for your LO on the plane, have a relative buy a $39 Cosco Scenera at Target or Walmart to use on your trip.  A warning - make sure they know how to install it and are prepared with a tightly rolled towel or pool noodle because that seat often needs one to achieve the proper recline.
