oh the fire

My sinuses feel on fire! I constantly use a humidifier and nose spray and i saline rinse. Its been going on for a couple months its so bad I get headaches.

Anyone else in my boat?
Have any remedies for this obnoxious symptom?

Re: oh the fire

  • I deal with it as well and have been using afrin sever congestion and it helps relieve some pressure and helps me to breath a little out my nose

  • I get terrible allergies each spring and fall. Sinus stuff is the worst!

I don't have a miracle cure but I have been trying a neti pot and it seems to be helping some. I have tried before and gave up because I was  too congested and the water couldn't go I anyhwhere, but I am trying every day and it does seem to help clear up from the really bad days faster. People swear by them!

I also love the nasal strips. They don't help with burning or pressure, but they do let me sleep a little because I can breathe a little. It's something! Hope you feel better!
  • I have a cold right now so I'm stuffy and miserable. Humidifier, saline spray, nothing is helping. And now that I'm awake heartburn has kicked in. People aren't going crazy with the sleeping on the left side thing right? Because I can only breathe better on my right side.

  • I do use the netti pot, its best to do it daily so you don't get overly stuffy. I w as majorly stuffy but its lughtened up now, now I just burn so much, ill take it over the double stuffed nose but it still sucks.

I just bought nose strips for bed time. Being my thrifty self I went with the off brand to save5 $...well they work fine but in the morning I get a nose hickey from it! Shoulda thrown down the 5$ bill! #-o

Don't drive yourself batty with the left side thing, I rotate sides each time I get up to pee. I've got 2 kids that are bright, happy and healthy and I never overdid the left side issue.
  • Aww haha, nose hickey. Thanks for side sleeping input. I get so much more anxious about things in the middle of the night and being sleep deprived.

  • @Sanibel21
    I sleep however is comfortable.
Left side, right side, back, sitting up...
    My kids are fine.
  • I switch each time I get up to pee. My hips burn like crazy so each side needs a break. Did the same with dd and she is just fine!
  • I actually use a sesame seed oil in the nose when things get bad- it lubricates and keeps things moving. I think it was Banyan oils who sold it, it was labeled "Nasya oil".. It's an Ayurvedic remedy. Hope you feel better soon momma!
  • I also switch sides every time I wake - I too sleep better on my right. My poor hips just can't take only sleeping on one side.

  • @springbaby03 If you take your nasal strip off in the shower you can help avoid the nose hickey!

  • My only suggestion is neti pot, hydration, and put some vaseline in your nostrils, I know this isn't your sinuses, but those must be dry too!

  • I have local raw honey every day about a tsp. it's the only thing that helps. I was taking tons of OTC and Rx pills and nothing worked but the honey does the trick for me. I take it everyday no matter what because there's always something pollinating in Florida. Hope you feel better.
