May 2013 Moms

Tough day.

We have decided to re home our dog. She hasn't been doing well since LO came along. She has been the sole baby for 2 1/2 years. But the past few months its gotten much worse. She has shown aggression towards LO, which caused us to keep her locked up when LO was up. However now she is messing all over the place cause she is mad and chewing things.

It's not going to be getting easier any time soon with another one on the way now. I also hate having to keep her crated so much and she isn't happy.

Who would of thought a 7 pound dog would cause me so much heart ache. She is going to a wonderful kidless home but I still find myself really sad.

  • I'm sorry to hear this. It is never easy to lose a pet (in any way).

  • I know it's not the same, but we had to put down one of our cats (the gray one from my old siggy pic that disappeared) this summer. My heart still hurts. I am sending you hugs.

  • Have yiu considered working with a behaviorist?
  • I am so sorry, pets are family. Unfortunately we have to do what is best for all the family no matter how it breaks our hearts. I know it hurts now but you have done a wonderful thing for your pet giving her to a kidless home where she can be the center of attention and your LO will be safe to crawl and explore her home. My heart aches for you in this situation but I am glad you have done something so positive, also it is great that you have taken the initiative to find her a new forever home and not bring her to a shelter.

  • sounds like you made a good decision for your family and your dog...I think she will be happier in her new home.  It's great you were able to find her a new family.

Yes we have given her that chance but since she has snapped once and isn't the kid type of dog to begin with the only sure thing was to keep her and LO separate. So I didn't want her locked up for the rest of her life I gave her to a kidless home.

  • I'm sorry. That's really rough. At least you took the time to re-home her.
