7 month feeding sched?

I cannot find a new rythym for DS's routine now that we've introduced solids.  I've heard it's not supposed to decrease their milk intake but at some point it has to right?  He's not eating a ton of solids (just once while at daycare and sometimes once in the evening if there is time) but he's having trouble finishing all of his bottles.  I was sending three, 5 ounce bottles (which worked well for him before we started solids) and he was eating every 3 hours or so.  I have been thinking of sending more ounces but stretching those bottles out (like sending two, 6 ounce bottles) to see how he does because when he's home with me we nurse on demand and he only nurses about every 4 hrs.

I feel like I don't know when he should have milk, solids, and nap.  We have had good luck with the EASY method in the past but I need some advice.  What are you all doing?

Re: 7 month feeding sched?

  • They are definitly offering bottle first and then around an hour later offering solids.  They aren't feeding him a ton of solids either - he's getting like an ounce of solids during the day and maybe an ounce in the evening with me.

I wonder if he's dropping a bottle regardless of the intro to solids since he's really not eating a ton yet?

  • @firemansflame We follow Moms on Call for the most part and although we aren't at this schedule yet because our LO is only 5.5 months, I thought I'd share. The suggestion in the book says 6-8oz for each feeding (obviously harder to gage if EBF) and baby food also says introducing sippy cup with water, BM or formula. The best thing I've found with MOC is the guideline schedule and making it our own with what works for our LO. For example, the 4-6 month suggests baby food 3 times a day. We started oatmeal with BM once a day at 4 months but not veggies/fruits till 5 months and only twice a day. Good luck in finding something that works for y'all.
