M14 Breastfeeding (EP, EBF, etc) - any interest?

Since we are starting to pop out our outside babies I was wondering if any of you had a desire to have M14 checkins for breastfeeding.

I know I'd feel most comfortable staying on this board for commiseration or just checking in on how things are going since we are all on a similar time/age of the babes.

Age of LO : 1 week today!

Milk momma style? Combo, so glad I bought a pump, wasn't sure how much use it'd get

Which pump do you use? Love it/Hate it? Medela Pump in Style. LOVE IT. Easy to use and is helping me out while getting use to LO BFing.

How is it going? Sucesses, Issues, questions? I'm thankful to the Bumpie that posted about the realistic things about BFing and that it can take a while, because owwie. LO sucks harder than any hoover, Kirby or Dyson and I got instant blisters. I had the nurse and LC check it out and its technically right. I would have been so stressed if I didn't know that was a possibility especially since the stupid hospital paperwork even said that it shouldn't hurt. Its getting better but the start its still toe curling. Oh and I got new stretch marks (it figures since i didn't get them on my tummy) and they are super obvs.

GTKY - Do you miss your pre-pregnancy boobs or are you admiring your new set? A little of both. I like these amazing porn star boobs (not trying to sexualize it but I'm a small person with big boobs now so its fitting) but I miss my piercing and even finding Maternity bras is a pain because they are so big and my band size is small. Never thought I'd have that problem

I'm nearly exclusively pumping, baby girl is somewhat nursing 2 times a day in NICU. I am currently using a Medela Symphony that I rented from the hospital while my Pump in Style is being shipped. I really like it and hope that the one I ordered will measure up.

She will be 2 weeks old tomorrow but is 37 weeks GA today. She was small for her age and will probably be in NICU 2 more weeks.

The main issue that I am having right now is finding time to pump every 2-3 hours and still be at the hospital to see my girl.

I miss my PP boobs just because they are GIGANTIC now. See the pic of me BFing Ava.(Sorry for the boob pic) Granted she is small, but my boob is twice the size if her head!

Age of LO : Almost 1 week old (Tomorrow)

For pump moms: Which pump do you use? Love it/Hate it? Pump In Style... It is a old model and I not a big fan of pumping... but you gotta do what you gotta do...

How is it going? Sucesses, Issues, questions? Going pretty well. I got very engorged right when I came home from hospital that effected her latch so I had to pump to relief. It caused me to have a low grade fever so I suspect I had mastitis coming on. After pumping around 3oz out she was able to latch and I started to feel better but the girls are very tender.

Once this little guy gets here I'd definitely be in! I'm still on the fence about if I will BF or EP (which is what I did last time). I just plan on waiting and seeing how it goes before making a decision. @andreabills the medela symphony is AWESOME! I used that to EP with DD and loved it.

Andreabills The only diff is between the 2 really is the hardcore motor, my LC the key is the let down phase which the Pump in Style has. I really like mine but have no experience with the symphony. Oh and totes ok to put BF photos in a BF thread

One of the reasons I was interested in doing one of these threads....kind of hard to show how excited you are for a cute suckling face or engorgement to anyone other than DH.

Attached is Sharkie's BF face, scares the crap out of me lol. Second is his latch and sleepy boob face....I'm pretty much in love with it. Every time it hurts and he has that face....melts my soul.

Milk momma style? (Exclusive breast feed, exclusive pump or combo) Both but more pumping than not. The twins are still getting fortified breast milk so I have to pump.

Soon I hope to go to ebf!

How is it going? Sucesses, Issues, questions? I HATE pumping a lot!!! The twins have been bottle fed and I'm terrified we won't be able to ebf. When we do breastfeed they are both needing to use nipple shields. The latch hurts!!! I also am getting "lightning boob" and it's painful!

Both...I like that they're big (DH does too) but not their heaviness, sensitivity, and lightning pains.

For pump moms: Which pump do you use? Love it/Hate it? Medela Pump In Style. It's fine, I just hate pumping after having to do it so long with DS1. It makes me feel like a dairy cow. Moooo.

The BFing is going well, though. Had some latch issues with Audrey at first, but she's a lot better lately!

Milk momma style?: EBF

For pump moms: Which pump do you use? Love it/Hate it? I'm not pumping yet, but I have used my trusty medela hand pump to relieve some engorgement. I love that thing! 3oz in less than 5 minutes.

How is it going? Sucesses, Issues, questions?: Pretty good. DS has a tongue tie and upper lip tie that we are having looked at on Monday. His latch is super shallow and still pretty painful.

I miss my pre pre pregnancy boobs. They haven't been the same since DD. But I do have lots of appreciation for their ability to nourish my babies

- I'm doing fine with the EPing, but looking forward to mixing in the BFing. Weight gain is super important for us. He needs to get a certain size for surgery so his intake has to be really monitored. I'm getting a scale to do weighted feeds and then bottle feeding his deficit. I really want to BF, and he shows signs of being ready for it, but I know it's going to be a little stressful at first! My daughter BF so easily, so this is a change!

Mine aren't big. They deflate when not BFing, so I'm enjoying them filled out.

Both. Well, today was my first day to pump. It was not as bad as i expected! We also have had to supplement until we go to the pedi on the 12th.

For pump moms: Which pump do you use? Love it/Hate it?

I have the ameda purely yours. It is not bad so far, didn't hurt any worse than mia's latch at the begining.

How is it going? Sucesses, Issues, questions?

Now that my milk has come in- sessions are lasting longer and we are going farther between sessions, unless we are cluster feeding.

I'm mostly breastfeeding but I do pump once a day to have bottles ready so DH can feed him at least once a day as well.

Right now I'm using the hospital rented Medela Lactina. I have flat nipples so I get to use the pump free for a month. I find it to be a bit noisy but it gets the job done.

How is it going? Sucesses, Issues, questions?
Overall BF has been a success. Now that I'm past the engorgement stage I actually feel human again. My only real issue is getting my nipples to stick far enough out so LO can latch & I can get rid of the nipple shield.

My boobs were big before & now they are what my husband refers to as "melons." I'm used to having a large chest so either way I'm okay with them as long as they don't hurt!

Mostly EBF, though each has had one bottle of expressed milk. I've been looking for a chance to pump a stash but they've been cluster feeding like crazy.

I have the Medela Advanced. So far so good.

How is it going? Sucesses, Issues, questions? Owen's latch wasn't always great in the beginning and he wasn't gaining weight as well as Keira but he's getting the hang of it now. I love that I am able to tandem feed them.

GTKY - Do you miss your pre-pregnancy boobs or are you admiring your new set? I was small prior to DS1 and I've never wanted big boobs. 34F is ridiculous, but DH is a fan.
