  I would appreciate it. It would be nice that you recognize the loss, especially if the person was super attached to their animal. With anything, it is the thought that counts.

  We had to put my 16 year old cat down right after J was born (couple of weeks). I could not handle going. I just couldn't handle it. I put my 17 year old cat down the year before and it tore me apart and I couldn't handle going this time. Anyway, the vet staff sent me a card and all signed it and put a little personal note in the card. I really appreciated it.

  Oohgurl Wow, 16 and 17 year old cats. That is a good long life for a cat, you must have given them a wonderful life.
