plan my party..please

Ds is having a disney planes party for his birthday. Theres going to be 7 kids there. Ages 1,2,3,5,10. Any ideas on a favor?

Any ideas for food? I really would just rather order out but I dont really want to do pizza. Its about 30 people including kids.

Also any cute ideas for decor? Ill get son planes stuff from the party store. And I think im going to make puffy clouds to hang from the ceiling in the dinning room.Im not loving anything on pinterest.

Thanks!

  • I love to do sandwich platters for parties. I feel like it's easier than pizza in a lot of ways. I usually do fruit salad, veggie tray and chips or pretzels. Maybe a pasta salad too.

I think that is exactly what I will do. Thanks! Sound perfect @lexusolden
  • Couldn't you just do paper planes for favors? My kids love them. Such a simple cheap toy but always entertaining.

It's so easy! I just order the trays at costco and buy the sides that morning when we pick up the trays.

  • Hav posted so many cute ideas!

I would not do a sandwich platter/subs for kids that age. Maybe a catered pasta tray...?

Why wouldnt you do a sandwhich platter for kids that age?.
  • I think a sandwich tray would work - maybe have tortilla wraps that are easier for kids to eat?

  • At dd's party I had sandwich trays and a pb and jelly bar- bread, pb, jelly, Nutella, honey, marshmallow spread and cookie cutters. That seemed to go over better with the kids.

I hate sandwiches at a party. Now a party sub is different IMO but individual sandwiches always look sad and cheap to me.

Why? Lol they certainly aren't cheap.

Ill probably end up ordering a few grinders. And i really really like the idea of a pb&j bar! Maybe ill try that too!
Its just our brother and sisters and neices and nephews so im not really worried about looking cheap lol.

A lot of kids are selective eaters and don't eat sandwiches. Some kids might eat it, but I'd guess that many would not.

Just thinking of my own kids, I know for sure they wouldn't eat it and wouldn't even want to take it apart and just eat the cheese/meat/bread separately.

  • Wow, I'm amazed at the kids not eating sandwiches thing. Even my fussy niece and nephew will eat a piece of bread with cheese. If they won't eat that, what will they eat?

  • My non-picky, eats lamb and raw oysters child will not eat a sandwich.
  • Now if there was a meat and cheese tray with the breads and condiments on the side...she would just eat the things separate.
  • Hm...o.k. Would it be too much work to have a make your own sandwich buffet? You could order platters of deli meats and sliced cheeses, and then have pre-sliced buns and some condiments? That way the kids could have sliced stuff separately if they wanted. Or have pb & j on the buffet too.

I think this is a much better choice if you really want to do sandwiches.

I'm shocked that your kids won't eat ginders/sandwiches! And kind of sad because they are my favorite food, ever.
I'm not worried about it, all the kids are my nieces and nephews i know for sure they will eat a sandwich. Do your kids never eat at panera? or subway?
