no poo in 24 hours??

My LO is three weeks and four days old, and is combo- fed - roughly 2/3 breast milk and 1/3 formula. Usually every second diaper is poopy, but he's now officially gone 24 hours with nothing!!

He's eating well, having lots of heavy wet pee diapers, and still has little toots.. He seems to feel okay aside from the occasional bout of arching his back and being upset because he's gassy - that's something he does every once in a while anyhow, but it's breaking my heart that he may be constipated and hurting.

Does anyone have any experience with this currently or with a previous LO? This no poo thing is freaking me out.

    Thanks for the advice, guys - when LO went from several poops a day to zippo, (literally overnight!) it was a huge shock! And of course I was up all night worrying and hovering over him and changing his diaper every two seconds hoping for poop. (Who would have ever thought we'd actually be praying for a shitty diaper to change, lol!) 

    Here's hoping he gets it out of his system today though. He'll be four weeks on Saturday (today's Tuesday).. I wonder at what point I should call his doctor? I searched this online and in my baby info books but got a trillion different unhelpful opinions, d'oh.

    We're about the same here, every 2nd or 3rd day.

    This is exactly what we just went through! Even down to the exact age! Like I mentioned in the dumb q thread, I was worried sick and the pedi said it was normal.They are going through a growth spurt and their little bodies are still trying to learn how to digest.

    After way over 24 hours, the little guy FINALLY pooped this afternoon. It was a big one too, lol. I think we both felt better, but he was still flailing around like he was having gas pains and stuff though. Poor little dude! This is the kind of business that's so bewildering on 2 hours of sleep :-S

    I was told that when they go through growth spurts it is common that they poo less often. As long as there are lots of pees, and there is no rabbit type poop (constipation) everything should be good :)

    I brought this up with my pedi before and he said sometimes babies go a couple of days without pooping and it's totally normal.

    We, well he just had a 5 day no pooping spell:/ he is EBF. I called the pedi and they said it can be normal, but to go ahead and take his temp rectally and sure as shit! He shit ;)... I was worried at day 3 but kept massaging his belly which was soft and he passed gas. My main concern was his stool that was foamy and frothy before he stopped going, was maybe a virus or blockage.
