Nipple pain

My son is 6 days old and nursing is going ok but we do have a slight issue. My nipples. There are no cracks or blisters and I don't think i have a clogged duct. It just hurts so bad when he latches and when he's done nursing, my breast tingle. My nipples hurt all day and if anything brushes up against them, I could about cry.

He has a good latch and we've tried different nursing positions with no luck. Do you think we could have thrush?

    Congratulations!

    My DS is 3 weeks today and in the last couple of days mine have gotten better but I had exactly what you described.

    Now they hurt with the initial latch for about 45 sec to 1 min and are a little sensitive after but I let them air dry and put some breastmilk on them. They are sensitive when I shower and I change my pads often (So they aren't wet because I leak often)

    I have this a lot and it ended up being nipple yeast, I am on antibiotics now (diflucan)
