I need a little insight/help making this decision.
I received an email this morning asking me to assume a VP role of fundraising next year for DS1's elementary school. I am honored and would love to get "in" with the PTO and the men and women on the board. Also, DS1 will have 4 more years at that school and eventually DS2 will go there.
The job description is a monthly morning meeting, working with local restaurants for the school fundraiser nights (eat here, the school gets a portion of $ earned that night) and to maintain a bulletin board at the school. Sounds easy enough.
I begin law school this fall. I am going part-time next year, so my hours at school are 5-9, every day. DS2 will be in 9-3 preschool 3 days a week, and we have babysitters arranged for the evenings until my DH gets home every day of the week. I plan to use weekends and preschool days as my study time.
Anyway, would you agree to the PTO position as well? This is a small community and I think being on as many boards/committees as possible would be a good decision both personally and future professionally.
Thoughts?!?
Re: Would You Do This?
Also, congrats on law school! That's awesome!
